Elephant man for Bass awards

The entertainment climate in Ghana will be taken a notch higher when Rackus Productions in collaboration with Bull Haus Entertainment and Solid Multimedia deliver their much-talked about Bass Awards on July 6.

According to the organizers, a galaxy of stars will be paraded in a two day activity to climax the awards which seek to reward dancehall a
nd reggae artistes across the continent who have put out great works.

The programme, according to the organisers, takes off on July 5 when the Accra Sports Stadium comes alive with performances from international dancehall and reggae fusion star, Elephant Man and popular Nigerian Reggae star, General PYPE at the Bass Awards Nominees Jam.

They will be performing alongside Ghanaian and Bass Awards nominees including Samini, Stonebwoy, Jupiter, Kaakie and General Marcus.

Born O’Neil Bryan in Kingston Jamaica, Elephant Man had his first international recognition when he signed a contract with Puma for his single “All Out” which was used for the 2004 Puma Olympics Campaign.

In 2003, Elephant Man hit the US charts with his hit single “Pon De River” and again in 2004 with “Jook Gal” which featured Twista, YoungBloodz and Kiprich off the Good 2 Go Remix album.

Other popular songs from Elephant Man are “Five O” featuring Wyclef Jean, “Willie Bounce” and “Nuh Linga” and has collaborated with several artistes including Busta Rhymes, Lil Jon, Ying Yang Twin, Janet Jackson and the Pitbull.

The main awards night will be held on July 6, 2013 at the National Theatre with Nigerian reggae/ d¬ance hall musician, General PYPE, the “Teaser” and “I am born Champion” hit maker headlining the pack of acts from General Marcus, Abrewa Nana and several others.
